The event provided information on the principles of competition policy and the mechanisms for organizing state supervision envisaged under the Competition Code.
An awareness seminar on the requirements stipulated by the Competition Code was held at the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The event was attended by representatives of nearly 20 economic entities operating in the healthcare services sector. Fuad Yadigarov, Head of the Antimonopoly Supervision Department of the Agency, spoke about the measures being implemented to safeguard competition. Gunduz Jamalzadeh, Head of the Anti-Dumping Investigations Sector, delivered a presentation entitled “Competition Code: Regulatory Methods and Modern Approaches.”
During the presentation, participants were briefed on the principles of competition policy, the nature of agreements restricting competition, the criteria for determining a dominant position in the relevant market, and cases involving abuse of a dominant position. The presentation also covered liability measures prescribed for violations of competition legislation, as well as the organization of state supervision and regulatory mechanisms in the relevant area.
The seminar also featured discussions on participants’ questions concerning the topic, with practical examples provided to clarify the relevant provisions and their application.
