The meeting addressed cooperation projects among national metrology institutions of Eurasian countries and matters related to the activities of the COOMET “Quality Forum.”

Azer Gurbanov, Deputy Director General of the Azerbaijan Metrology Institute (AzMİ) operating under the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Vice-President of the Euro-Asian Cooperation of National Metrological Institutions (COOMET), participated in the 43rd meeting of the COOMET President’s Council.

The event was hosted by the National Metrology Institute of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK UME) and attended by Lazizbek Saidoripov, President of COOMET, Vice-Presidents Sui Jingfeng (China), Mustafa Çetintaş (Türkiye), and Yevgeny Lazarenko (Russia), as well as Marat Yunusov, Head of the COOMET Secretariat (Uzbekistan), and Enver Sadıkoğlu, Quality Manager at TÜBİTAK UME.

The meeting addressed the COOMET Strategy for 2026–2030 and transformation projects defining the organization’s future development priorities, comparisons of measurement standards, the organization of joint scientific research, including the holding of seminars on digitalization in metrology during the current year, as well as other matters of importance.

In addition, A. Gurbanov delivered a presentation on the activities of the COOMET “Quality Forum” and put forward proposals on amending the documents governing the Forum’s activities, as well as ways to accelerate the processes for registering and conducting comparisons within the framework of COOMET.

At the conclusion of the event, the participants visited the laboratories of TÜBİTAK UME.
