The event featured discussions on the practices of competition authorities in OTS member states and Balkan countries concerning the detection, assessment, and decision-making in cases of abuse of a dominant position.

A delegation led by Elnur Baghirov, Chairman of the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, paid a working visit to Istanbul, Republic of Türkiye. As part of the visit, the delegation participated in a workshop entitled “Best Practices in Cases of Abuse of a Dominant Position,” organized by the Turkish Competition Authority.

The workshop aimed to strengthen cooperation between the competition authorities of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) member countries and those of the Balkan region.

The event featured discussions and presentations on practices related to the detection, assessment, and decision-making in cases of abuse of a dominant position.

Shamsi Rzali, Head of a Department at the Agency, delivered a presentation on the activities carried out by the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in ensuring competition, in its capacity as Azerbaijan’s competition authority.
