The discussions covered the activities of the newly established Global Accreditation Cooperation Organization (GLOBAL-ACI), modern approaches in accreditation and conformity assessment, and mutual recognition.

Emin Zeynalov, Director of the Azerbaijan Accreditation Center (AzAK) operating under the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, participated in the semi-annual meetings of the Global Accreditation Cooperation Organization (GLOBAL-ACI) held in Prague, Czech Republic.

The meetings brought together more than 100 representatives of accreditation bodies from Azerbaijan, as well as Germany, the United Kingdom, Georgia, Spain, Kazakhstan, the Republic of Korea, Norway, Singapore, Thailand, Türkiye, and other countries, along with representatives of regional cooperation bodies in the field and international organizations.

During the meetings, particular attention was first given to the transition of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) into a new unified organization operating under the name Global Accreditation Cooperation Organization (GLOBAL-ACI).

The discussions also addressed the analysis of best practices in accreditation and conformity assessment, future development priorities for the global accreditation system, and the strengthening of quality infrastructure through the application of innovative approaches.

At the conclusion of the meetings, decisions were adopted on organizational and strategic matters. An agreement was also reached to hold the next meetings concerning the activities of the relevant technical committees in October this year.

Note: The Global Accreditation Cooperation Organization (GLOBAL-ACI) commenced its operations on January 1, 2026. The organization was established through the merger of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC).
