The meeting focused on assessing the impact of the market activities of state-owned enterprises on the competitive environment, the work carried out by the Agency in this area, and priorities for the upcoming period.

Jafar Babayev, First Deputy Chairman of the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, met with a delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) headed by Nino Tchelishvili, Senior Economist at the IMF’s Fiscal Affairs Department, who was visiting Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, information was provided on the assessment of the impact of state-owned enterprises’ market activities on the competitive environment, the analytical and supervisory activities carried out by the Agency in this area, as well as the priorities for the upcoming period.

An exchange of views was held on the regulation of the market conduct of state-owned enterprises and natural monopoly entities within the framework of the Competition Code, the impact of their activities on competitive neutrality and a healthy competitive environment, as well as the work carried out and additional measures planned in this area.
