The new state standards establish safety and technical requirements for children's toys, playground equipment, furniture used in preschools and schools, as well as children's diapers.

The Azerbaijan Institute of Standardization (AZSTAND), operating under the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has adopted 25 new state standards in the field of children's products.

The newly adopted standards include:

• AZS GOST 19301.1:2026 “Furniture for Preschool Children — Functional Dimensions of Tables”;
• AZS GOST 19301.2:2026 “Furniture for Preschool Children — Functional Dimensions of Chairs”;
• AZS GOST 19301.3:2026 “Furniture for Preschool Children — Functional Dimensions of Beds”;
• AZS GOST 22046:2026 “Furniture for Educational Institutions — General Technical Specifications”;
• AZS GOST 18314:2026 “Teaching Laboratory Tables — Functional Dimensions”.

The adoption of these state standards aims to ensure the safety of children's products and align applicable requirements with international standards.

The draft state standards were adopted based on proposals submitted by the Technical Committee for Standardization on Children's Products (AZSTAND/TC 51) and the Technical Committee for Standardization on Furniture Industry Products (AZSTAND/TC 14) established by AZSTAND. The standards have been included in the State Fund of Normative Documents on Standardization.

Note: The above-mentioned state standards are among the reference standards envisaged for adoption under the technical regulations “On the Safety of Toys,” “On the Safety of Products Intended for Children and Minors,” “On the Safety of Furniture Products,” and “On the Safety of Equipment for Children's Playgrounds,” within the framework of the State Programme for 2023–2025 on the Alignment of the National Standardization System with International Requirements.
