The meetings addressed current issues related to international standardization in the fields of precious metals, gemstones, and jewelry, while future areas of cooperation were also considered.

Rovshan Amircanov, Deputy Director of the Consumer Goods Expertise Center LLC, operating under the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, participated in working group meetings of the ISO/TC 174 Technical Committee held in Berlin, the Federal Republic of Germany.

The meetings addressed the work carried out by the working groups, current issues related to international standardization in the fields of precious metals, gemstones, and jewelry, standards currently under development, as well as existing standards scheduled for revision.

Participants also exchanged views on modern approaches and implementation mechanisms in the relevant fields.

In addition, discussions covered the dimensions and functional characteristics of jewelry, the accuracy of size information provided to consumers, terminology related to gemstones and associated products, assessment criteria, principles of information disclosure, classification, laboratory approaches, and the implementation of international standards.

The participants also considered prospects for further cooperation in the field of standardization.
