The stand of the Consumer Goods Expertise Center featured demonstrations of the analysis of precious metal items, determination and assessment of their assay fineness, as well as the process of applying the state assay mark to the surface of jewelry items.

The Consumer Goods Expertise Center (CGEC), operating under the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, participated in the “Azerbaijan Jewelry Show” international jewelry exhibition organized by the Azerbaijan Jewelers Association.

The exhibition brought together nearly 40 local and international companies and featured a wide range of products, including jewelry made of precious stones, gold and silver, bullion and coins, costume jewelry, as well as equipment and supplies for the jewelry industry.

Specialists from the Consumer Goods Expertise Center provided exhibitors and visitors with information on the services offered in the analysis and examination of precious metals and gemstones, as well as the relevant legislative requirements.

For this purpose, an XRF (X-ray fluorescence) spectrometer and laser marking equipment used in the provision of relevant services were installed at the Center’s stand. The equipment was used to demonstrate the stages of inspection and marking of precious metal items as part of state assay control.

Note: Pursuant to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated February 12, 2025, the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan was vested with powers in the areas of state assay control; state supervision over the production, processing, use and circulation of precious metals and gemstones; state supervision over the import, export, use, circulation, registration, storage and tracking of rough diamonds; and ensuring the issuance of opinions on the import and export of rough diamonds.
