Media representatives were informed about the importance of metrology, Azerbaijan’s measurement and calibration capabilities, and the laboratory infrastructure of AzMİ was showcased during a media tour.
An awareness training session and media tour were organized for media representatives at the Azerbaijan Metrology Institute (AzMİ), operating under the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The event was aimed at providing media representatives with a better understanding of the field of metrology and raising awareness of the importance of metrological services, as well as the work being carried out to develop the national measurement standards infrastructure and laboratory facilities.
During the event, Khamis Seyranov, Director General of AzMİ, delivered opening remarks and spoke about the Institute’s areas of activity, existing and planned laboratories, as well as international cooperation in the field.
Representatives of AzMİ then delivered presentations on the role of metrology in everyday life, industrial development, the activities of business entities, and consumer rights protection. Information was also provided on Azerbaijan’s National Time Standard — UTC(AZ).
As part of the event, a media tour was organized to the laboratories operating under the Azerbaijan Metrology Institute, allowing media representatives to gain first-hand insight into their activities.
During the tour, detailed information was provided on the modern equipment used in the laboratories, their measurement and calibration capabilities, and the areas in which these laboratories provide services.
