The meeting provided entrepreneurs with information on the requirements of regulatory legal acts governing the circulation of items made of precious metals and gemstones, as well as assaying services. Participants were also informed about the liability measures provided for by law in cases where precious metal items are offered for sale or placed into circulation without an assay mark.

The State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan regularly conducts awareness-raising activities for business entities operating in the consumer market on consumer rights protection. As part of these activities, another meeting was held with entrepreneurs engaged in the sale of jewelry products at the Central Department Store.

The meeting aimed to explain the legislative requirements governing the circulation of items made of precious metals and gemstones, raise entrepreneurs’ awareness of the implementation of the state assay control system, and discuss practical issues encountered in this area.

During the meeting, participants were provided with information on the requirements of regulatory legal acts governing the circulation of items made of precious metals and gemstones, assaying services, procedures for conducting state assay control, and the rights and responsibilities of entrepreneurs.

The state fees established by legislation for applying assay marks to items as part of assaying services were also highlighted. The procedures for applying the relevant fees and the applicable payment mechanisms were explained.

Participants were further informed about the liability measures provided for by law in cases where precious metal items are offered for sale or placed into circulation without an assay mark.

The meeting continued in an interactive discussion format. Entrepreneurs’ questions were answered, and their views and suggestions were heard.
