The seminar provided information on the key requirements and implementation mechanisms of competition legislation, highlighting the importance of legal regulation in this area and the obligations of business entities.
The State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan hosted another awareness seminar on the implementation of the Competition Code.
Representatives of companies providing consulting and legal services, as well as large enterprises engaged in the retail sale of food and non-food products across various markets, participated in the seminar.
More than 20 representatives attended the meeting, which opened with remarks by Fuad Yadigarov, Head of the Antimonopoly Supervision Department of the State Agency. This was followed by a presentation entitled “Competition Code: Dominant Position and Economic Concentrations.”
During the presentations, participants were informed about the responsibilities of the competition authority in implementing competition policy, as well as the concept of a “dominant position” and cases of abuse of such a position.
Detailed information was also provided on economic concentrations, the procedures for their assessment, and the conditions under which the competition authority may grant approval for economic concentrations.
