A meeting was held at the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan with representatives of the “Consumers Council of Azerbaijan” Public Union.

The meeting focused on strengthening public participation in consumer rights protection, expanding cooperation with civil society institutions, and identifying areas for joint activities.

During the meeting, Jafar Babayev, First Deputy Head of the State Agency, highlighted the importance of public participation and cooperation with civil society institutions in ensuring effective consumer rights protection.

It was noted that the establishment and commencement of activities of the “Consumers Council of Azerbaijan” Public Union is an important step toward strengthening public involvement and support in the implementation of state policy in the field of consumer rights protection.

The meeting also emphasized that the State Agency attaches particular importance to cooperation not only with government institutions, but also with non-governmental organizations and other civil society institutions. Such cooperation contributes to strengthening consumer protection mechanisms, raising public awareness, and enhancing public oversight in this area.

The parties exchanged views on prospects for further cooperation and discussed possible areas for joint initiatives aimed at improving consumer rights protection.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to continue cooperation and undertake joint activities to further strengthen consumer protection mechanisms.
