The event provided entrepreneurs with information on regulatory requirements governing the circulation of items made from precious metals and gemstones, state assay control, and assaying services.

A meeting was held at the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan with entrepreneurs engaged in the sale of jewelry products at the Moskva Shopping Center.

The primary objective of the meeting was to provide information on legislative norms regulating the circulation of items made from precious metals and gemstones, educate entrepreneurs on the implementation of the state assay control system, and discuss practical matters arising in this sector.

During the event, participants were provided with details on statutory requirements governing the circulation of items made from precious metals and gemstones, procedures for conducting state assay control, as well as the rights and responsibilities of entrepreneurs in this domain. State fees established by legislation for applying assay marks to products through assaying services were highlighted, alongside explanations of application rules and payment mechanisms. Furthermore, statutory liability measures provided by law for offering for sale or circulating precious metal products without official assay marks were emphasized.

The meeting concluded with a Q&A session addressing entrepreneurs' inquiries, as well as a review of their feedback and suggestions.

The meeting also highlighted the State Agency’s commitment to cooperation with not only government institutions, but also non-governmental organizations and other civil society organizations. Such cooperation contributes to strengthening consumer protection mechanisms, increasing public awareness, and enhancing public oversight in this area.

The participants exchanged views on opportunities for further cooperation and discussed possible areas for joint activities aimed at improving consumer rights protection.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to continue cooperation and develop joint initiatives in the field of consumer rights protection.
