The meeting highlighted the importance of preventing the unauthorized use of trademarks, protecting the rights of intellectual property owners, and raising awareness of the relevant legal requirements and protection mechanisms.

An educational meeting on preventing the unauthorized use of trademarks and the legal mechanisms applicable in this area was jointly organized by the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Intellectual Property Agency, patent attorneys, and specialists in the relevant field.

The event featured presentations by Shahin Naghiyev, Head of the Department for Control of Unfair Competition and Advertising Legislation at the State Agency; Naila Nasibova, Deputy Head of the Department and Head of a Division within the Department of Law, Appeals and Registration of Industrial Property Objects at the Intellectual Property Agency; and Anar Huseynov, Director of the Center for Patent and Trademark Examination under the Intellectual Property Agency.

The presentations covered the current state of trademark protection, applicable legal and regulatory mechanisms, as well as provisions of the Competition Code concerning the unauthorized use of trademarks and other forms of unfair competition.

At the conclusion of the meeting, participants discussed pressing issues encountered by patent attorneys in their professional practice, exchanged views on current challenges related to trademark registration and protection, and received clarifications on practical aspects of applying the relevant legislation.
