The new state standards establish essential safety requirements for the design, manufacture, testing, and operation of machinery, technical installations, and industrial equipment, including their electrical, electronic, and programmable electronic systems. They also provide requirements for assessing and controlling occupational risks.
The Azerbaijan Standardization Institute (AZSTAND), a public legal entity operating under the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has adopted **42 new state standards** in the field of mechanical engineering:

The adoption of these state standards is aimed at enhancing the safety of machinery, technical installations, and industrial equipment, reducing occupational risks, strengthening occupational health and safety, and ensuring alignment with international safety requirements.
The draft state standards were adopted based on proposals submitted by the Technical Committee for Standardization on “Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical and Hydraulic Systems” (AZSTAND/TC 56), established under AZSTAND. Following their adoption, the standards were included in the State Fund of Normative Documents on Standardization.
Note: These state standards are included in the list of reference standards for the technical regulation **“On the Safety of Machinery and Equipment,”** which is scheduled to be adopted under the **“State Program on Harmonizing the National Standardization System with International Requirements for 2023–2025.”
