Organized to deepen media representatives’ sector-specific knowledge of competition policy, the training covered the requirements of competition legislation, the state’s regulatory mechanisms in this area, and other topical issues.
The State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan held a training session for nearly 40 representatives of various media outlets on “Regulations in the Field of Unfair Competition and State Supervision over Natural Monopolies.”
During the training, Shahin Nagiyev, Head of the Agency’s Department for Supervision over Unfair Competition and Advertising Legislation, and Shamsi Rzali, Head of the Department for State Supervision over Natural Monopolies, presented the requirements set out in the Competition Code and explained the relevant state regulatory mechanisms.
Participants learned about the concept of “unfair competition” and its various forms, the measures the Agency takes to prevent such cases, and the methods used to supervise natural monopolies.
The training closed with a Q&A session, illustrated with practical examples.
